50 Years & Still Going Strong!
Visitors celebrated the 50th anniversary of The Country Doctor Museum’s opening on December 8, 2018, fifty years to the day of the museum’s opening in 1968. Guests and staff (including ECU librarians and archivists) listened to local musicians, enjoyed refreshments, toured the museum and met one of the museum’s founders, Dr. Gloria Flippin Graham. The daughter of a country doctor, James M. Flippin, Dr. Graham received a certificate of appreciation for her efforts to create the CDM. Mr. Tim Smith was also recognized for his many years of volunteering at the museum. Over the years, Mr. Smith has provided entertaining tours, built mounts and signage in his wood working shop and contributed his talents and energy to any request for help.
