Breast cancer is the second most diagnosed cancer in the country. “As a breast cancer survivor, I know the importance of early detection,” says Annie Anderson, Director of the Country Doctor Museum. “Early detection gives you more care and treatment options. I’m excited to partner with Cancer Services of Eastern NC and Invision Diagnostics to bring these services to our community.”
As part of their mammography screening visit, guests may take a free guided tour of the Country Doctor Museum. The museum tells the stories of country doctors who provided care to rural families and communities during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Exhibits about nursing, pharmacy, home health and transportation are also included as part of the tour. This breast screening event is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the history of rural health care while improving your own health!
